Need Help?

We're here to help you wheel with discipline.

RetireWheel is a framework, not a guru. Our support answers questions about how the tools work, what the scoring means, and how to get unstuck — not what to trade. For anything personal to your finances, please speak with a licensed advisor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I create my RetireWheel account?
Go to retirewheel.com, click Start, and sign up with your email. You will be asked to choose the Monthly ($19) or Annual ($228) plan and enter payment via Stripe. After checkout, you are taken straight to your dashboard.
Do I need a brokerage account to use RetireWheel?
No, but the experience is much better with one connected. Without a broker connection you can still use the CSP Calculator, Roll Calculator, AI Risk Analyst, Scanner, and PMCC Builder with manual inputs. Connecting a broker lets the Risk Analyst score your actual open positions and recommend rolls in context.
Which brokers are supported?
Brokerage connectivity is provided by SnapTrade. SnapTrade supports most major U.S. retail brokers. The current list is shown in the Connect Broker dialog inside the app.
How do I connect my broker?
From your dashboard, go to Settings > Brokers > Connect. You will be redirected to SnapTrade, which then redirects you to your broker's login screen. You authenticate with your broker (we never see your credentials), approve read-only access, and get redirected back. First sync usually completes within a minute.
How do I score my first trade?
Once connected, open Scanner, pick an underlying, set your delta and DTE filters, and the Scanner returns ranked cash-secured put candidates. Click any candidate to open it in the Risk Analyst for the full framework breakdown.

Subscription and Billing

How do I change plans (Monthly to Annual or vice versa)?
Go to Settings > Billing > Change Plan. Switching from Monthly to Annual takes effect immediately and credits any unused portion of the current month. Switching from Annual to Monthly requires a support request.
How do I cancel?
Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription. Cancellation stops future charges. You keep access for the remainder of the period you have already paid for. You do not need to email support to cancel.
Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-cycle?
Within 7 days of your first charge: yes, full refund. After 7 days: no, except for the discretionary annual downgrade described in our Refund Policy.
Where do I update my payment card?
Settings > Billing > Payment Method. The form is hosted by Stripe — we never see your full card number.
Why was I charged again? I thought I cancelled.
Check Settings > Billing > Subscription Status. If it says Active, the cancellation did not go through and the renewal charged. Email support@retirewheel.com with the charge date and we will look at it the same business day.
Do you offer team or family plans?
Not yet. Each subscription is for a single user. Account sharing is a violation of the Terms of Service.

Using the Tools

What does the AI Risk Analyst actually do?
It takes a candidate trade and runs it through the framework: capital at risk, premium and ROC, days to expiration, distance from cost basis, and a series of refusal rules. It returns a structured score and the why behind it. It does not place trades or give personalized advice.
How does the Scanner pick candidates?
You set the universe, delta band, DTE window, and minimum premium thresholds. The Scanner pulls option chains, applies your filters, applies the framework's refusal rules, and ranks what's left. You can save filter presets.
How does the Roll Calculator decide whether a roll is 'good'?
You input the current short option and the proposed new one. The calculator returns net credit, change in capital at risk, change in days, and the framework's view on whether it's a forward roll, defensive roll, or refusal. Final call is yours.
What is the PMCC Builder for?
It helps you size and stress-test a long LEAPS plus short call structure: cost of the long leg, theta and delta exposure, max profit/loss, breakeven, and the framework's refusal flags. It is meant for traders who already understand PMCC risk.
Can I export tool outputs?
Yes. Most tool outputs have a Copy button (plain text) and a Download CSV option for tabular results. Trade journals export from Account > Data Export.
Are the calculators backtested?
The scoring logic reflects rules from the framework; it is not a backtested signal. The tools do not predict outcomes. They check whether a trade matches the framework's pattern.

Broker Sync (SnapTrade)

My trade isn't showing up. What do I check?
In order: (1) Open Settings > Brokers and click Refresh. (2) Confirm the fill is showing in your broker's own UI. (3) Check the Sync Log on the same page. (4) If it has been more than an hour, email support@retirewheel.com with the broker name, symbol, and approximate fill time.
My broker page says "0 brokers synced." How do I recover?
This usually means the SnapTrade connection expired. Recovery: (1) Settings > Brokers > Disconnect on the affected broker. (2) Reconnect — this re-runs the auth flow. (3) Allow a few minutes for the initial sync. (4) If reconnect fails, copy the error code and email it to support.
Why are my positions showing but my orders aren't?
SnapTrade and brokers separate position data from order data, and order endpoints are sometimes delayed. If positions are current but orders are stale, that's almost always a broker-side delay. Wait 10-15 minutes and refresh.
Is my broker password stored anywhere on RetireWheel?
No. You authenticate with your broker through SnapTrade's flow. RetireWheel never sees and never stores your broker username, password, or 2FA codes.
Can RetireWheel place trades for me?
No. The Service is read-only. We do not have trading authority on your account and will not request it.
Why did my account show a different P/L than my broker?
Small differences usually come from timing (intraday vs. EOD marks), corporate actions, dividends, or assignment events not yet reflected in SnapTrade. Your broker is always the source of truth.

Framework and Strategy

What is the "wheel" strategy?
The wheel is a recurring options income approach: sell cash-secured puts on stock you would be willing to own; if assigned, sell covered calls; if those calls are assigned, sell the shares and start the cycle again. It works best on liquid underlyings you actually want to own.
What is PMCC and how is it different from the wheel?
PMCC (Poor Man's Covered Call) replaces the long stock leg with a deep-in-the-money LEAPS option. It approximates stock ownership with less capital while still letting you sell short calls for income. Unlike owning stock, the LEAPS has an expiration and can lose 100% of its value. PMCC is not a beginner strategy.
Why does the framework "refuse" certain trades?
The framework has pattern-based refusal rules — situations where the historical risk/reward doesn't justify entry. Refusal rules keep traders out of patterns that look attractive in the moment but compound poorly. The tool shows you the refusal and the why; you decide whether to override.
Is RetireWheel giving me financial advice?
No. RetireWheel provides framework-bounded education and analytical tools. We are not a registered investment adviser. See the full disclaimer in our Terms of Service.
Who built the framework?
The framework reflects an institutional pattern for options income — structured rules and refusal logic adapted into self-directed retail use. RetireWheel is the tool layer around that framework.
Does the framework work in all market conditions?
No framework does. Options income strategies compound well in flat to slightly bullish, moderate-volatility regimes and tend to hurt in fast-trending bear markets. The framework's refusal rules thin out activity when conditions degrade, not guarantee profit.

Account and Security

How do I reset my password?
Click Forgot password? on the login page. We email a reset link valid for 30 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check spam, then email support@retirewheel.com.
Do you support two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Yes. Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication. We support authenticator apps (TOTP — Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator). We strongly recommend enabling 2FA on any account connected to brokerage data.
How do I change my email address?
Settings > Account > Email. You will be asked to verify the new address by clicking a confirmation link.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Settings > Account > Data Export gives you a download of your trade journal, saved filters, account preferences, and AI Risk Analyst history as JSON and CSV.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion is permanent. We retain only what is required for tax, accounting, and legal reasons as described in our Privacy Policy.
What happens to my broker connection if I cancel?
SnapTrade tokens are revoked when your subscription ends or when you disconnect from Settings > Brokers. You can also revoke access directly from your broker's connected-app page.
